Our Mission

Why Alexandria Exists

Investment research is fragmented, shallow, and disconnected from what actually matters. We built Alexandria Compass to fix that — with proprietary stock ratings, AI-powered earnings call analysis, forward-looking Compass Direction, and research that challenges consensus.

The Problem

Financial Publishing Deserves Better

Fragmented and Forgettable

Investment research arrives as static PDFs, buried emails, and scattered newsletters. There is no persistent library, no way to search across authors, and no connection to your actual portfolio. Brilliant ideas die in inboxes.

Surface-Level Analysis

Most platforms give you a price target and a buy/sell label. They never show you how management actually sounded on the call, what the AI detected in their tone, or how the score was calculated. You get the conclusion without the reasoning.

No Earnings Intelligence

Retail investors are locked out of the kind of earnings analysis that institutional desks take for granted. Tone shifts, hedging language, CEO vs CFO alignment — the signals that actually move stocks are invisible to most people.

Imagine a platform that rates every major US stock using a proprietary scoring engine — then listens to every earnings call, detects shifts in management confidence, and connects it all to your portfolio. Not tomorrow. Today.

That is Alexandria Compass. Named for the ancient library that aspired to contain all human knowledge, our platform combines proprietary stock ratings with real-time earnings intelligence and expert research — structured by AI and made radically transparent by design.

At the heart of the platform is the Compass Rating — a multi-factor scoring system that evaluates over 4,000 US equities across eight dimensions: Revenue Growth, Profitability, Valuation, and Momentum on the quantitative side, plus Theme Purity, Competitive Moat, Catalysts, and Market Position on the qualitative side. Scores are recomputed weekly from live market data and presented as clear, actionable tiers — from True North to Avoid — with deliberate contrarian weighting to surface opportunities where the market may be wrong.

Layered on top of those ratings is an earnings intelligence engine that actually listens to earnings calls. Using AI-powered audio transcription and sentiment analysis, Alexandria measures management confidence, detects hedging language, scores CEO and CFO alignment, and tracks quarter-over-quarter sentiment shifts. This is not summary data from a third party — we process the audio ourselves.

The research library brings it all together. Investment ideas — complete with conviction levels, sector tags, and timeframes — are published with video deep-dives, quick takes, and market commentary. A weekly Compass Briefing delivers the most important signals directly to your inbox.

We did not set out to build another fintech product. We set out to build the publishing platform that serious investors deserve. One where the quality of the ideas matters more than the quality of the marketing. Where AI serves as an engine — processing, scoring, and detecting patterns — while human editorial judgment decides what matters and why.

“The goal is not to replace human judgment with algorithms. It is to give human judgment the infrastructure it has always deserved.”

What Makes Us Different

Three Things You Won’t Find Elsewhere

We Listen to Earnings Calls

Not summaries. Not transcripts from a vendor. We process the actual audio from earnings calls using AI transcription, then analyze tone, hedging, confidence shifts, and executive alignment. The result is an earnings intelligence layer that most retail investors have never had access to.

Contrarian by Design

Most rating systems reward consensus. Ours deliberately challenges it. The Compass Score applies contrarian weighting to find opportunities on the edges of the bell curve — stocks the market may be mispricing, whether traditional blue chips or cutting-edge innovators.

AI-Powered, Human-Directed

AI powers our ratings engine, earnings analysis, and portfolio insights. But every investment thesis, editorial perspective, and strategic judgment is human. Our analysts may present through editorial personas, but the research is always authored by real people.

Our AI Philosophy

How We Use AI

Alexandria is built on AI from the ground up. Here is how we use it — and where we draw the line.

1

AI as Infrastructure, Not Oracle

Alexandria uses AI to power its ratings engine, analyze earnings calls, and generate portfolio insights. AI handles the heavy lifting — processing thousands of data points, detecting hedging language, scoring sentiment — so the research you see is comprehensive, consistent, and up to date.

2

Human Editorial Oversight

Every piece of research published on Alexandria is authored or reviewed by real people. Our AI personas present the research, but the analysis, investment theses, and editorial judgment behind them are human. As the platform grows, contributors may publish under their own identity or through an editorial persona — but the substance is always real.

3

Transparent Methodology

Alexandria never presents output as a black box. Compass Scores break down into visible sub-scores. Earnings sentiment shows exactly what was detected — tone, hedging level, executive alignment — so you can evaluate the data yourself, not just trust a number.

A Publishing Platform, Protected by the First Amendment

Alexandria is a financial publishing platform. Our contributors are authors and analysts who share investment research, opinions, and ideas with subscribers. This is constitutionally protected speech under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.

We are not a registered investment adviser. We do not manage money. We do not execute trades. We do not provide personalized investment advice. What we provide is something equally valuable: a platform where investment research is published with unprecedented transparency and structure.

This distinction matters. It means our contributors can speak freely about their convictions without the regulatory conflicts that constrain traditional Wall Street research. It means we can build tools — like The Compass — that connect research to your portfolio without crossing the line into advisory services. And it means you, the subscriber, retain full autonomy over your investment decisions.

We believe that transparent, high-quality financial publishing — free from banking conflicts, advertiser pressure, and regulatory entanglements — is one of the most powerful tools available to individual investors. Alexandria exists to make that tool accessible to everyone.

The Vision

What We’ve Built — and Where We’re Going

Alexandria Compass already delivers proprietary Compass Ratings for over 4,000 US equities, real-time earnings intelligence, a growing library of expert research with video content, portfolio tracking with AI-powered position analysis, and a weekly Compass Briefing e-letter. Free subscribers get Compass Scores and portfolio tools; membership unlocks full breakdowns, position-by-position AI analysis, and deep-dive research.

We are building toward a future where the best investment thinking is not locked behind institutional gates. Where a retail investor in Omaha has access to the same quality of research and earnings intelligence as a portfolio manager in Greenwich. The Compass creates the intelligence layer. The earnings engine listens between the lines. Your portfolio connects it all.

Alexandria was built at the intersection of finance, technology, and media. Not to disrupt Wall Street, but to build the publishing infrastructure that makes Wall Street’s best thinking accessible to everyone.
